The Metro area market posted positive numbers in the first month of 2010, with a 28.12% increase in the dollar volume of sales over January 2009. The average home price rose 4% over the previous year, and inventory checked in at a 4 months’ supply, down from a 5.2 months’ supply in December.

While we already know that February numbers will be down because of the extraordinary weather, our outlook for the spring market is very positive. As the snow melts, we fully expect the market to go into high gear.  An added bonus for upper brackets listings in our area are the many good loans that are now available up to $2,000,000.
